Our nursery is located just around the corner from the main school building on Hazel Avenue. We offer places to 3- and 4-year-olds and have a September intake and also a January intake. The purpose-built Early Years setting was previously the local Children’s Centre and has indoor and outdoor space with many different areas of provision to help your child develop the following skills:
- Communication and language
- Physical Development
- Personal, Social and Emotional Development
- Understanding the World
- Expressive Arts and Design
We are very proud of our nursery and the work that we do to get all children ‘school-ready’. This work was highlighted in our recent Ofsted Inspection.
‘Children get off to a good start in early years. The curriculum is shaped well to support children’s early learning and development.’ Ofsted, November 2021.
At East Ward, we offer 15 hours free per week to all our nursery children which can be used across 5 morning sessions or 5 afternoon sessions each week. We also offer 30 hours for children with working parents who are eligible for 30 hours free childcare. Please use the following link for more information https://www.gov.uk/30-hours-free-childcare.
Our nursery sessions run as follows:
- Morning 8.30am - 11.30am
- Afternoon 12.15pm – 3.15pm
- Full-time 8.30am – 3.15pm
Wherever possible, we will try to accommodate your first choice of a morning or afternoon place for your child.
