Little Oaks Community Hub
Little Oaks Community Hub is home to our youngest children in Nursery. Little Oaks is located on Hazel Avenue, just a short walk from the main school building. From here we run a variety of parent workshops alongside other professionals from Bury and offer support services that allow us to reach out to people in the community who are most in need.
Our focus for 2021-2022 is ‘School Readiness’. Mrs Hall, our Early Years Leader and Nursery teacher, works with Early Years professionals from the local authority to deliver a programme which supports parents and carers in getting their children school ready. These sessions include: toilet training support, training on communication and language and support with establishing good routines at home.
In addition to this, we also run a very successful ESOL program for non-English speaking mothers and their babies. The programme delivers functional language skills in combination with health and parenting information and is designed as a structed 12 week mother and baby ‘stay and play’ group.
All of our sessions are open to everyone in the local community and is not limited to parents and carers of East Ward Primary School. If you would like more information on what we offer, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
