Little Oaks Community Hub
Little Oaks Community Hub is home to our youngest children in Nursery. Little Oaks is located on Hazel Avenue, just a short walk from the main school building. From here we run a variety of parent workshops alongside other professionals from Bury and offer support services that allow us to reach out to people in the community who are most in need.
Our focus for the next school year is ‘Health and Well-being’ ’. Mrs Hall, our Early Years Leader and Nursery teacher, works with professionals from the local authority to deliver a programme which supports adults with their own mental health and well-being by providing courses to support you with things such as budgeting and finance and first aid for the family. We also do a lot of work around supporting families with routines and getting children ages 0-5 ready for school by developing parent’s confidence with things such as toileting training.
In addition to this, we also run a very successful ESOL program for non-English speaking mothers and their babies. The programme delivers functional language skills in combination with health and parenting information and is designed as a structed 12 week mother and baby ‘stay and play’ group.
