Resourced Provision

East Ward is home to a 22-place Local Authority Resourced Provision (RP) – The Honey Pot. The RP is mainly for children with a diagnosis of Autism and those with speech, language and communication needs.

The Special Educational Needs Team at Local Authority have control over allocating places to children with an Educational Health Care Plan - as a school we are unable to admit any children into our Resourced Provision without a consultation from Bury SEN Team.

The Honey Pot is led and managed by our school SENCo, Miss Shedwick and our children are supported by a staff team with a wealth of knowledge of SEND. The Honey Pot class teachers are Miss Shedwick and Miss Delves.

 

The Honey Pot is made up of three learning spaces: The Bees, The Bumbles and The Den.

Our curriculum is tailored to meet the children’s needs and the way in which they learn and is focused on the Engagement Model and EYFS and Key Stage One and Two Framework. Children in The Honey Pot have the opportunity to join their peers in their mainstream class, as and when appropriate.

The Bees have daily phonic sessions each morning usually followed by taught Maths and English which is delivered in a small group. Teaching time is planned and delivered by the staff in the RP, ensuring that the children have the opportunity to meet their individual targets. 

Children with a very early developmental age access The Bumbles. Their curriculum is organised to enable them to make progress based on their Educational Health Care Plan. They follow individual learning plans and are assessed using the 5 areas of engagement.

The Den provides a bridge between The Bumbles and The Bees with the curriculum designed around the Early Years Framework. The children who learn in The Den take part in daily phonics, writing and maths lessons and then engage in learning around the wider curriculum in the afternoons.
